Showed up had bubble/hydro pump

Anonymous said...

Mine found in the wild had mud slap for standard and ice punch for charged move.

The wild one that I caught knows mud shot and hydro pump.

HOW MANY CHARGES AND DAMAGE CAN U DO WITH ICE PUNCH?

Anonymous said...

Mine evolved from a Poliwhirl with Bubble (15) and Ice Punch (45).

mud shot and ice punch from evolving poliwag into 98iv 1427cp poliwrath

So does power mean nothing and everything is based off of dps?

2.3 sec cooldown for bubble is worst

95.6% IV with ideal moves is OP OP OP defender.

There is no such thing as a 'OP OP OP Defender'
- Not with the current set up.

Gyms are designed to favour the attacker, not the defender. They are also designed for a quick turn around.

So yes, having a 'ideal / recommended' move set will cause some damage, BUT if the attacker is proficient at dodging, this guy won't be around for long; irrespective of IV's or STAB moves.

My Magneton (for example) smashes through these with relative ease with some well timed dodge, as the attack rate of bubble is so poor, that my 0.7 sec Spark does a sizable amount of STAB electric attacks and take minimal damage in return.

Result: Goodnight Poliwrath.

Saved a lot of candies to get Bubble and Ice Punch, must frustrating shit ever. Also got a lot of bad move sets for IVs with more than 90%... Guess they like to f*ck up for those who know about it..

This thing actually counters Lapras pretty well with a STAB fighting charge move and resistance to ice.

MIne is Mud Shot + Submission. Is that really a poor match?

Got one with Mud Shot/ Ice Punch... saved 125 candys for this shit

This past weekend caught a wild Poliwrath with CP 1649 and Bubble/Hydro Pump. IVs are lousy, 20%, but as an attacker with double STAB, it's been pretty decent at helping take down some gyms in my area.

Maybe Mud Shot+Hydro Pmp is better because Mud shot is quicker, thus for defending it is more difficult to be dodged. I have a Poliwrath 93,3% with these two moves. I am thinking of boosting it up.What do you say?

So, if my 15/14/14 Poliwrath has submission as the charge move (even though it has bubble) should I not bother powering it up?

On a similar note, would a 15/14/13 Vaporeon with perfect moveset be stritcly better?

Caught one in the wild with bubble/hydro pump, the "I'm blown away by it's stats" quote and the "it amazes me, it can accomplish anything" quote too. It's at ~1,050 cp right now but I'm out of candies for it. Still, I'm happy.

Started with a perfect IV polywag and just got a polywrath with bubble/hydro pump :D

poliwrath is pretty much viable with bubble and any of the charge moves. bubble is incredible especially for gym defense.
it's a treat to see that poliwrath is the only notable pkmn to have bubble among a bunch of NFEs, and bubble is basically best described as a quick move that thinks it's a special move. even pkmn that resist bubble will feel a sting from it.

bubble/hydro pump for raw power. just have something else in store for dragonite and the grass and water types that wall it.
bubble/ice punch lets it reverse-counter all of the game's grass and flying types.
bubble/submission lets it hit more things neutral and have a niche at whittling at lapras, though it'll be walled by the grass/poison types, exeggutor, dragonite...

though mud shot/hydro pump shouldn't be scoffed at either. only 5 noteworthy things in the kanto dex wall that set.

Fought one today with Bubble and Ice Punch against my Vileplume... My VIleplume CP is a lot higher than the Polywrath and the Polywrath took out my little baby with Ice Punch T.T. If you get Ice Punch instead of Hydro Pump, don't get discouraged. Ice Punch cover Polywrath's weakness.

Evolved one from a Poliwag that I hatched from a 5 km egg. Got Bubble/Hydro Pump for the moveset and he has exceptional stats and IV's as well. Feeling so blessed right now.

Caught one in the wild, 84% IV, it has mud shot & submission. Should I bother powering it up? It's 1233 CP.

I've got 5 Poliwraths with submission and ice punch that i know very well the combinations

Poliwhirl Size XS or XL with Mudbomb = Hydropump
Poliwhirl with Scald = Hydropump
Poliwhirl with Mudbomb = Submission
Poliwhirl with Bubblebeam = Submission
Poliwhirl Size XS or XL with BubbleBeam = Ice Beam
Poliwhirl Size XS or XL with Scald = Ice Beam

Unknown said...

To get Hydropump, try normal poliwhirl with Scald or XS/XL Size Poliwhirl with Mud Bomb.

Anonymous said...

The prior moveset have no bearing on the future moveset of the evolution. It's all RNG. I just evolved an XS poliwhirl with mudbomb and it got ice punch where you are claiming it would get hydropump.

Mudshot and submission. I'm so salty

After I had evolved mine listed above, with 89% IVs, I found out that Niantic had nerfed him in terms of defense stats. I understand that he's still good as a gym defender but at the same time it sort of feels like Niantic dropped trou and took a dump on my parade.

cp2066 93% bubble/dynapunch, first gen II evo attempt.
a tyranitar over half its CP crumbled to it. it also can wear down most high level blissey pretty good before going down.

Unknown said...

Just evolved a 100% Poliwrath today with Bubble and Dynamic Punch :D.

Anonymous said...

With 3000CP Blissey and Snorlax filling up poke gyms. Getting a Polywrath with Rock Smash/Dynamic punch is going to be a necessity. I just built my first Polywrath and it dropped Rock Smash / Ice punch.
