Vileplume

⬅ #044 Gloom#046 Paras ➡
Pokedex Entry #045: Vileplume is a Grass/Poison Type Pokemon. It evolves from Gloom.
Vileplume's toxic pollen triggers atrocious allergy attacks. That's why it is advisable never to approach any attractive flowers in a jungle, however pretty they may be.

Evolved one from a hatched Oddish, ended up with Acid/Moonblast...very disappointing after 125 candies, trying to look on the bright side; fairy moves are strong against dragon types..

Re: Anonymous, that's what happened to me on my first try. The problem is, the only evolved Dragon-type in the game at this point is Dragonite, and since it's part Flying, you're better off using Ice moves on it. My advice is just evolve another Vileplume. I evolved my second one yesterday and got Razor Leaf/Solar Beam.

As you imagine same stuff here, Vileplume with IV 93,3% with Acid/Moonblast. I've read your comments and I betted that I should have the same fate and it did happen. Is it my opinion or in many first time evolutions the worst moveset is awarded? Only Jolteon, Flareon, Raichu had the best after being evolved and Arcanine had the second best

Acid + Petal Blizzard would actually be the best possible moveset for Vileplume. With Razor Leaf + Solar beam you would only be attacking with your charge move, on average, once every 20.7 seconds (Probably more like 21.75 seconds because you can't overcharge your meter). With Acid + Petal Blizzard you'd be attacking with your charge move twice every 15 seconds (Overcharging is irrelevant because you shouldn't be wasting energy as you don't have to fill the meter up all the way before attacking). While Acid is weaker than Razor Leaf it has a much lower cooldown allowing you to fill your charge meter faster. And while Solar Beam is more powerful than Petal Blizzard, it takes much longer to charge.
My calculations took into account: The amount of times you would need to use your fast move to fill your charge meter to 100, the cooldown times for fast moves, energy costs for charge moves, and power of charge moves.
Moonbeam still sucks ass no matter how you look at it.

Evolved to 2 vileplumes, one was 97% iv and both got Moonblast, one got acid and one razor leaf. Very disappointed, I want another good grass pokemon besides my awesome %100 Victreebel :O

In my area, the only Oddish I've gotten are from eggs. I busted my ass to get enough candy to evolve to Vileplume (during the Halloween special).
I got Razor Leaf and Petal Blizzard (oh my god, petals are hurting me lol).
Then I came on here and saw that it's possible to get Solar Beam. Dang... but it would take me way too long to evolve another Oddish. They're just too rare here.

The bright side is that I never see Vileplumes in gyms so at least I have a more unique Pokemon to add rather than the same old ones.
