This is a general comment for ever Pokemon.. how to choose best moves? 1st I was going for high dps but now I realize that energy regeneration & energy needed is also there so is there any site showing only best moves for every Pokemon ?

Anonymous said...

Sry I forgot to mention example in previous post.. so 4 example take Blastoise & tell me which charge move is better for him ? as all 3 moves having something good in it.

Anonymous said...

Can you choose the moves yourself?

i got one today 391 cp :/ don't know what to do get some candy and power him up or wait to get another one

Anonymous said...

I just got a lv34 charizard

Wing Attack and Dragon Claw is the best set

Anonymous said...

Is dragon claw good or bad in pokemon go,wing attack 9 and dragon claw 35

Anonymous said...

I got ember and dragon claw :( is that the worst combination ever?

Anonymous said...

I want to know how good it is dragon claw cause it cost low energy and it very easy to charge with wing atack.

Mine is Ember and Fire Blast

I finally evolved to a charizard with 84% IV and moveset: wing attack+flamethrower. Quite happy but wished i got fireblast instead.

Ember and fire blast is the one I have on mine.

For ATTACKING you want to go with DPS.
So that means wing attack and fire blast.

For Defending you want the fast move to be the highest damage bc they all attack at the same speed in a gym. The charge move... some goes with the best dps but that sometimes means long charge bars which are predictable to dodge. Some goes with more constant attacking moves to disrupt attacking combos.

I grind for dragonite, i want the dragon claw so bad and i get BULSHIT. I grind for charizard, the last thing i want is dragon claw and guess what DRAGON CLAW.... FU NIANTIC TO HELL AND OVER.

Wing attack and dragon claw is good dragonite counter

Wing attack and Fireblast is good everall

charizard is one of those pkmn that i feel can't really get stuck with an atrocious moveset. all the move combinations have some sort of utility, something fine on a pkmn that requires gathering 125 of a rare species' candy to obtain.
venusaur is in a similar position. blastoise isn't so lucky with having 2 possible non-stab movesets.

though i'll admit wing attack/dragon claw might set off some people. that's only walled by magneton, and you could still bash grass and fighting types and the occasional dragonite, but really...a charizard without any fire attacks?

Had a 97.8% Charmander 14/15/15 XL wt&ht so worked to evolve him up to Charizard and got Ember and Flamethrower 1517cp. Is it worth powering him up or should I just save again for a Charizard with hopefully Fire Blast and Wing Attack?

I had a 100 iv charm and evolved to wing attack, d. Claw, I evolved another charm that had 84 iv and got ember and d. Claw.... I now have another charm that has 91 iv ... I will be evolving tomorrow most likely.... I DO NOT want another D. Claw! I'm done charm grinding if this doesn't work out... sorry had to vent!

Anonymous said...

I have evolved a 100iv charm with 655cp into a charizard with emb. And d. Claw... I evolved a 533 charm with 92iiv into a char with wing att. And d. Claw... I now have another 84iv 615cp charm I'm going to evolve into a char by tomorrow... wish me luck... my favorite is charizard, so to have 3 useless ones kinda ruins the game for me!

I now have 3 charizards with dragon claw..... wow.... all that work....

Evolved my first from Charmander tonight :O

I got:

Wing Attack (YAS)
Flamethrower (YAS)

93% Perfect - 13/14/15

Now, while this isn't the 'coveted move set', it was definitely the one I was hoping for, especially given the IV Spread as I would much rather have the 2 charge moves with the lesser cool down then the single use Fire Blast, which leaves you open to getting hit during the 4.1 seconds.

Threw upwards of 90K stardust I had been saving up for this type of evolve.
- Now at 2223 CP ( Started life as a 536 CP Charmander :) ), So very much looking forward to DESTROYING Executors / Venusaurs with this bad boy!

I've caught all start pokemon and their evolved forms in the wild ^_^

Caught a 100% IV Charmander and evolved into Charmeleon. Was shitting my pants when I evolved it, but it ended up with.... Wing Attack and Fire Blast!!! So stoked. First try and perfect moveset with perfect IV's :D

Caught 2 wild Charizards in the same day this weekend. 1 438cp with ember and dragon claw. I was pretty let down as I'm almost at level 30 and thought that was a bit low. The 2nd one was 1815cp with Wing attack and fire blast. That was surprising and exciting. Before those 2 catches, I hadn't seen any Charmanders or Charmeleons in over 3 months.

Finally evolved the Charizard that I wanted. Best gym defender moveset, Ember and Flamethrower and 86% IV's, with a +14 bonus to its attack and defense, which renders the recent defense nerf irrelevant. SO happy right now.

Anonymous said...

But Charizard is not a good defender, he goes down too fast against water gun. His only use is being an attacker against grass defenders like exeggutor or venusaur. For that you want wing attack as your fast move. The charge move doesn't matter that much, but you want flame thrower or dragon claw in my opinion. Fire blast just leaves you open too long.

Unknown said...

There's always going to be a counter for something else.

Anonymous said...

My condolences Steve, with the latest update you actually got the weakest moveset for Charizard. Both air slash and fire spin have double the dps of ember. And Charizards new charge move, overheat, has 10 more dps than flamethrower with it 160 damage.

Anonymous said...

hang on to any dragon claw charizard for the long term. it'll definitely have a use for it when mega evolution happens.

charizard got a hard crap-on at gen II's arrivial. the best legacy charizard according to pogomoves is wing atk/flamethrower which is only 82.7% of fire spin/overheat's effectiveness.

my lv.30 cp2273 charizard wing atk/fire blast, caught as a lv.30 charmander during an event of increased starter spawns, was only relevant for roughly a month and a half until gen II made it obsolete.
just another scumbag plot of niantic's to keep the player base playing. charmander are the least plentiful of the kanto starters over here.

How can charizard have flamthrower with a stab of 31.8 and flareon has it with a stab of 39.8?

Anonymous said...

I just walked 85km to evolve my 96% IV rated Charmeleon and finally got a Charizard with Fire Spin and Overheat :)
