Caught at local grocery store. Quick is Rock Smash(fighting)(5) and super is Stone Edge(Rock)(55 long blue bar).

Caught mine at a coffee shop. It knew Mud Slap(6) for quick and Horn attack for Special. I don't think Mud slap is listed.

Got mine at a sushi restaurant. Knew rock smash and earthquake

Caught mine in the road. It has Mud Slap(6) and Earthquake(60)

I'm a little confused here. I evolved mine but it has 1212 cp
Rock Smash 15
Stone edge 80

I can't find anywhere where it lists these numbers

I'm a little confused on something for these calculations. Is the cooldowns for the secial the casting time for it? As in how long it takes to channel the whole spell or is it the time in between when you are able to use it again? If its the second isn't Earthquake better becasue it will take at least 14.85 seconds to reach 100 energy with the faster attack.

I caught a 900 cp one wild. I was about to transfer it until i realized it had 100% IV stats

I found this rhydon fights great against snorlax. I took out a 2000ish snorlax with my 1400 rhydon. Not too hard. You just have to dodge the hyperbeam.

Cp just changed to capped at 2274 has a quick move of mud slap 15 and stone edge 80...caught in latrobe pa but I got it up from 1600

There is a lvl 33 trainer holding a gym here with a Rhydon of CP 2299. Clearly some of the data on this page is off.

rhydon got a stat and cp buff into the top 10.
torn between my rock smash/stone edge and mud slap/earthquake ones.
either way, this buff hints at rhyperior being a force to be reckoned with should gen IV come.

rhydon will excel as an attacker but will struggle as a defender when everyone and their grandparents, ancestors, pets, and houseplants have at least one optimal vaporeon in their arsenal at this point in the game's life...
though mud slap from a defender will give quite a sting to most of anything.

These things are beast defenders. Even with water type pokemon, they deal so much damage, they last almost as long as Snorlax, so you can imagine the amount of damage they do to your team.

Errr no. These things are awful defenders. They are good for prestiging against though. The animation of mudslap makes it so easy to dodge so I love it when my team leaves one in the gym as I can easily take out a 2500+ CP rhydon with my 1000 CP vaporeon.

If I see a rival gym with rhydons in it, it's almost like a free win. You can get 4 waterguns in between a mudslap and dodge. Rhydons just go down so fast and 1 vaporeon of equal CP can go through 3 of them.

Just beat two 2900+ CP rhydons with my 2200 CP vaporeon and still had over 50% health left. I was able to get off 5 water guns and still dodge the mudslap each turn. Like a hot knife cutting through butter. Rhydon might be the weakest high CP defender and is the ultimate glass canon right now.

After multiple tries and being cheated more than once with the Rock Smash/Megahorn moveset, I finally evolved a 89% IV (15/10/15) Rhydon with Mud Slap/Earthquake. I've had bad luck with 5 km eggs when it comes to Rhyhorn and it seems like it's almost impossible to catch one in the wild with excellent stats as well. But he was so worth it. Maybe he's not so good as a good defender due to typing but as an attacker, when used correctly, he's awesome! I love using him against Fire and Electric types and basically anything else that he isn't weak against.

Anonymous said...

@Steve, but who uses fire or electric pokemons as defenders? Fire pokemon die too fast to water and electric pokemon die too fast because of their low hp. Fire and electric are primarily attackers.

Just evolve a 98%iv with rock smash/earthquake... Is it worth investing stardust on?

Just evolved a 100% Rhydon with Mud Slap and Earthquake :D.
